【原文】

子曰：「德之（1）不修（2），學之不講（3），聞義不能徒（3），不善不能改，是吾憂也。」

【英文】

The Master said, “It is these things that cause me concern: failure to cultivatevirtue, failure to go more deeply into what I have learned, inability, when I am told what is right, to go over to where it is, and inability to reform myself when I have defects.”

【注釋】

（1）之，句中語助詞。

（2）修，修養。

（3）講，講習。

（3）徒，遷徙。

【翻譯】

孔子說：「品德不修養，學問不講習，聽到合宜的道理不能追隨，缺點錯誤不能改正，這些都是我所憂慮。」

【主旨】總論人的生命與生活，孔子之生命及其對自己生命之期盼。
