【原文】

子在齊聞韶（1），三月不知肉味（2），曰：「不圖為樂之至於斯（3）也。」

【英文】

The Master heard the shao in Qi and for three months did not notice the taste of the meat he ate. He said, “I never dream that the joys of music could reach such heights.”

【注釋】

（1）韶，舜樂名。

（2）三月不知肉味，三是虛數。三月，指好幾個月。蓋專心於是而不知肉味。

（3）斯，指稱詞。指上文「三月不知肉味」。

【翻譯】

孔于在齊國聽了《韶》樂，幾個月來連吃肉都不知道滋味。他說：「想不到《韶》竟然到了這麼感人的程度！」

【主旨】自我個體在面對世間之道，人對世間事物之反應。
