【原文】

子曰：「吾嘗終日不食，終夜不寢，以思；無益，不如學也。」

【英文】

The Master said, “Once I went without food all day and without sleep all night thinking, but I found that this did me no good at all. It would have been better for me to have spent the time in learning.”

【翻譯】

孔子說：「我曾經整天不吃飯，整夜不睡覺，來思考，可是沒有益處，倒不如去學習好。」

【主旨】勸人求學。
