【原文】

子曰：「朝（1）聞道（2），夕死可矣！」

【英文】

The Master said, “He has not lived in vain who dies in the evening, having been told about the Way in the morning.”

【注釋】

（1）朝，早晨。

（2）聞道，言得聞知事物當然之理。道，事物當然之理。

【翻譯】

孔子說：「早上悟得真理，就是當晚死去也沒有什么遺憾了！」

【主旨】君子與其存在，君子面對自己之存在與成就，君子與生死。
