【原文】

曾子曰：「吾聞諸夫子：『孟莊子（1）之孝也，其他可能也；其不改父之臣與父之政（2），是難能也。』」

【英文】

Zeng Zi said, “I have heard the Master say that other men could emulate everything Meng Zhuang Zi did as a good son with the exception of one thing: he left unchanged both his father’s officials and his father’s policies, and this was what was difficult to emulate.”

【注釋】

（1）孟莊子 ，魯大夫，姓仲孫，名速。其父孟獻子，名蔑。

（2）其不改父之臣與父之政，可與〈學而〉第十ㄧ篇相互參證。

【翻譯】

曾子說：「我聽老師說過：『孟莊子的孝行，別的都容易做到；只有他不改變父親所任用的人和各種政策，是不容易做到的。』」

【主旨】論魯大夫仲孫速之孝行。
