【原文】

三家（1）者以〈雍〉徹（2）。子曰：「『相維辟公，天子穆穆（3）』，奚取於三家之堂？」

【英文】

The Three Families performed the yong when the sacrificial offerings were being cleared away. The Master said,

“In attendance were the great lords, In solemn dignity was the Emperor. What application has this to the halls of the Three Families?”

【注釋】

（1）三家，指魯大夫孟孫、叔孫、季孫。

（2）雍徹，言天子宗廟之祭，撤祭品時歌〈雍〉詩以娛神。

（3）相維辟公，天子穆穆，此〈雍〉詩之詞。相，助；辟公，諸侯；穆穆，遠深貌。

【翻譯】

魯國大夫孟孫、叔孫、季孫三家，撤祭品時用雍徹。孔子說：「〈雍〉詩天子主祭時, 由諸侯陪祭, 天子儀容莊嚴肅敬.這兩句詩在三家的廟堂上來唱，又取他哪一點意義呢？」

【主旨】禮之本質，禮樂之正與亂。
