【原文】

子見齊衰（1）者，冕衣裳（2）者，與瞽（3）者，見之雖少（4）必作（5）；過之必趨。」

【英文】

When the Master encountered men who were in mourning or had on ceremonial cap and robes or were blind, he would, on seeing them, rise to his feet, even though they were younger than he was, and, on passing them, would quicken his step.

【注釋】

（1）齊衰，喪服。以粗麻為之而不縫邊者曰斬衰，喪服之重者；縫邊者曰齊衰，喪服之輕者。此泛言喪服耳。

（2）冕衣裳，貴者之盛服。

（3）瞽，盲人。

（4）少，年少。

（5）作，起立，表示敬意。

【翻譯】

孔子看到穿喪服的人，穿戴禮服的官員，還有瞎子，看到他們，雖然有的年紀比孔子輕，孔子一定會站起來，如果經過她們的面前，也必定快走幾步。

【主旨】論在現實存在中之無我，在人前之無我，對有所尊卑者。
