【原文】

子曰：「苟有用我者，期月（1）而已可也，三年有成。」

【英文】

The Master said, “If anyone were to employ me, in a year’s time I would have brought things to a satisfactory state, and after three years I should have results to show for it.”

【注釋】

（1）期月，謂週ㄧ歲之月。即ㄧ周年。

【翻譯】

孔子說：「如果有人用我來治理國家政事，一周年變差不多了，三年便會很有成績。」

【主旨】孔子嘆當時不能用己。
