【原文】

子曰：「邦有道，危（1）言，危行；邦無道，危行，言孫（2）。」

【英文】

The Master said, “When the Way prevails in the state, speak and act with perilous high-mindedness; when the Way does not prevail, act with perilous high-mindedness but speak with self-effacing diffidence.”

【注釋】

（1）危，正直。

（2）言孫，言語謙順。孫，謙遜。

【翻譯】

孔子說：「國家太平時，言語和行為正直；國家紛亂時，仍然行為正直，但言語謙遜。」

【主旨】教人處世之道。
