【原文】

大師（1）摯適齊；亞飯干適楚；三飯繚適蔡；四飯缺適秦（2）；鼓方叔入於河；播鼗（3）武入於漢；少師（4）陽，擊磬襄，入於海。

【英文】

Zhi, the Grand Musician, left for Qi; Gan, musician for the second course, left for Chu; Liao, musician for the third course, left for Cai; Que, musician for the fourth course, left for Qin; Fang Shu the drummer crossed the River; Wu, player of the handdrum, crossed the River Han; Yang. the Grand Musician’s deputy, and Xiang who played the stone chimes crossed the sea.

【注釋】

（1）大師，魯樂官長。

（2）亞飯干適楚三句，《白虎通．禮樂》篇：天子ㄧ日四餐，每餐用飯時都要奏樂。亞飯、三飯、四飯都是天子諸侯用飯時主持奏樂的樂官名。干、繚、缺，為樂官之名字。

（3）播鼗，播，搖也。鼗，小鼓。

（4）少師，樂官之佐。

【翻譯】

魯國的樂官長摯到齊國去，主持國君次飯演奏的樂師干到楚國，三飯樂師繚到蔡國，四梵樂師缺到秦國，擊鼓樂師方叔遷居黃河之濱，搖小鼓的樂師武遷居漢水之涯，樂官佐陽、擊磬的樂師襄兩人隱居海邊。

【主旨】記魯之樂官他去，魯之樂教益衰。
